A Switch 2 research demonstration has put Drift Legends 2 in the spotlight as a possible route into the console’s WebKit browser engine. According to Switch2Unlock’s October 31 report, researcher jamesmykil shared a 56-second video on X showing the game opening a page labelled PIVOT.
The researcher says the approach works on firmware 23.0.1. In replies accompanying the demonstration, he also claimed that the game provides access when opened and that other parts of the system capable of opening web pages can serve a similar purpose. Those statements remain the researcher’s account of the proof of concept.
Storage access has a limited scope
A second video described storage access and remote read-and-write commands. However, Switch2Unlock reports that the author clarified an important boundary: reading and writing currently apply only to WebKit’s own local storage. The demonstration therefore does not establish unrestricted access to the console’s storage or system.
Jamesmykil also says he is working to adapt ns2jb and OunceCake to this route. According to his account, the current setup requires a Switch 2 and a computer; the source does not report a completed adaptation of either project.
No public jailbreak release
For people following Switch 2 modding and homebrew research, the distinction is significant: this is a claimed browser-engine entry point, not a released jailbreak. At the time of the report, no code had been published, and the available evidence consisted of the author’s videos and posts. Whether this route can support broader capabilities remains unresolved.
