No Man’s Sky is giving space scavengers a fresh reason to explore derelict vessels. The Forsaken update introduces collectible organic specimens, traders who exchange them for biomechanical corvette parts, and package delivery missions, according to Hello Games’ October 28 announcement on Xbox Wire.
The Halloween-themed release follows September’s Cosmos update. While that update expanded the space between planets and introduced player-owned, customisable space stations, Forsaken puts its emphasis on unsettling salvage and additional ways to build and use corvettes.
Salvage feeds a different kind of ship build
Hello Games says players can find preserved organic material hidden in derelict hulks and infested space outposts. These haunted mementos can then be traded with forsaken traders for a collection of corvette modules.
The construction options include habitats, cockpits and structural pieces, allowing players to change an existing ship’s appearance or assemble a more extensively biomechanical vessel. The rewards also extend beyond ship construction: scavengers can earn a larva tank helmet and purchase a larva cannon multi-tool using preserved grubs.
Travel and interface changes accompany the theme
Forsaken also adds corvette haulage missions built around transporting packages. Alongside those courier jobs, Hello Games lists additional corvette cockpits and seamless warping between systems by flying towards visible stars.
Interface additions include a minimal HUD mode aimed at advanced players and a radial weapon selector. These changes give the release a broader scope than its Halloween appearance alone suggests, pairing themed collection rewards with travel, mission and control options.
Hello Games describes Forsaken as No Man’s Sky’s fifth major update of 2026, following Remnant, Xeno Arena, The Swarm and Cosmos. The studio also says planning is already underway for 2027, although the announcement does not detail what those future updates will contain.
