Eden-NX2 reports put Switch 2 emulation under scrutiny

Eden-NX2 Boots Switch 2 on PC 7 Days After Hack

Experimental Switch 2 emulation is drawing attention following reports of a Windows build called Eden-NX2. In its October 31 report, Shattered describes software that can reportedly boot selected Nintendo games, while documenting conflicting accounts of performance and unresolved questions about its development.

Shattered attributes the project to a developer using the name Takoroka and dates its pre-release to October 29, 2026. The build extends the existing Eden emulator. According to the coverage it summarises, Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza can start, although that does not establish reliable compatibility throughout either game.

The jailbreak connection remains uncertain

The report places the release seven days after a reported demonstration of ns2jb, a Switch 2 jailbreak attributed to researcher Sammy Hajhamid, also known as pepsipu. It identifies firmware 23.0.1 and an exploit involving SmileBASIC 4.

However, the claimed relationship between that exploit and Eden-NX2 is not confirmed. Shattered cites Windows Forum describing the connection as plausible but unproven, and says the coverage contains no confirmation from Takoroka establishing that dependency.

Booting games leaves substantial questions

Performance accounts differ considerably. Shattered contrasts reports of roughly 60 frames per second with descriptions of missing geometry, stuttering and slower gameplay. It also discusses Eglantine, a subsequent fork, while acknowledging conflicting information about its authorship.

The reported Eden-NX2 package includes neither games nor firmware; users must provide their own files and keys. Shattered also relays Windows Forum’s description of an unsigned build released through a very new account.

For readers following Switch 2 modding and homebrew, the distinction matters: an exploit demonstration, a game reaching its opening section and dependable emulation are separate milestones. The supplied coverage describes experimental progress, with stability, compatibility and the jailbreak connection still requiring stronger evidence.
