A dispute between developers of similarly themed PC games has moved beyond shared ideas to allegations of copied code. According to GamesRadar’s October 29 report, Needle In A Haystack developer NoGlyph claims A Game About Needle In A Haystack used its work without permission.
The accusation appeared in a Steam discussion that is no longer available. GamesRadar reports that a Reddit post preserved the message, which was posted by a user named Jahvin identifying themselves as the developer behind NoGlyph’s game.
Allegation points to September demo builds
In the preserved message, the developer alleged that the disputed code matched Needle In A Haystack demo builds dated September 20 and 21, 2026. The post also claimed that identical error messages remained in the accused game, which it said launched on October 16.
Those details describe NoGlyph’s accusation, rather than an independently established finding. GamesRadar explicitly says it could not confirm the copying claims after the accused title became unavailable.
Steam disappearance leaves questions unanswered
GamesRadar says SteamDB’s update history indicated that A Game About Needle In A Haystack had apparently been removed from Steam roughly nine days before its report. An archived store page remained accessible through the Wayback Machine.
The supplied reporting does not establish why the game disappeared or confirm that Valve removed it in response to NoGlyph’s complaint. Its disappearance therefore does not, by itself, substantiate the allegation.
Both games sit alongside Needle In A Haystack Simulator, the viral title GamesRadar identifies as the inspiration for their premise. The dispute highlights a meaningful distinction for players following similar Steam releases: borrowing a game concept and copying its underlying code are separate claims, requiring different evidence.
