Eden-NX2 Shows Early Switch 2 Emulation Progress, With Major Limits

Nintendo Switch 2 Digital Walker 6

Eden-NX2 is an experimental Windows emulator build aimed at running Nintendo Switch 2 software, with substantial compatibility and performance problems still reported. According to Gadget Pilipinas, developer Takoroka published the pre-release on October 29, making it an early project to watch in Switch 2 emulation.

The report describes Mario Kart World as playable, but affected by stuttering, slow performance and visual faults. Donkey Kong Bananza also reportedly runs, although it falls short of 60 frames per second. These accounts establish a limited demonstration of software running, rather than evidence of consistent compatibility across the console’s library.

Experimental support with visible gaps

Gadget Pilipinas attributes missing meshes and graphical glitches to unimplemented shaders, citing Takoroka’s release notes. It also describes conflicting performance reports: some circulating clips claim results near 60 FPS, while other testers report sluggish gameplay and missing scenery. Those differences leave the build’s practical performance uncertain.

Eden-NX2 is a branch of Eden, which the publication traces to the Yuzu codebase. The build is hosted on Eden’s own git server, and testing has been limited to Windows. No games or firmware are included; users must provide game files themselves.

Separate from the reported ns2jb jailbreak

The release followed the reported public demonstration of ns2jb by roughly a week. Gadget Pilipinas says researcher Sammy Hajhamid, known as pepsipu, demonstrated that exploit around October 22 on firmware 23.0.1, apparently through SmileBASIC 4. The report says its effect lasts only until a console reboot.

The jailbreak and emulator are separate projects. For readers following Switch 2 modding and homebrew, the distinction matters: this emulator release does not establish that either project offers broad compatibility or lasting console access. Eden-NX2 remains a proof of concept whose long-term stability is unknown.
