Eglantine footage points to progress for Mario Kart World emulation on PC

A gameplay video is drawing attention to Eglantine, a project described by DSOGaming as a Nintendo Switch 2 emulator for PC. In its November 3 report, the outlet says footage of Mario Kart World shows the game running at 60 FPS across multiple stages, although occasional stutters remain.

The claim comes from a specific recorded demonstration. DSOGaming’s report attributes the roughly 12-minute video to the YouTube channel Unreal Gaming PC and identifies the hardware used as an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 and 64GB of RAM.

One game, one reported configuration

According to the outlet, the recording used Eglantine build-135 6221409. That detail ties the reported result to a particular emulator build as well as a particular PC; the supplied report does not establish equivalent performance on other configurations or across the Switch 2 library.

DSOGaming contrasts the footage with its earlier coverage from a few days before, when it described Mario Kart World as running with poor performance and numerous visual glitches. Its latest account therefore suggests progress for this game, while still acknowledging interruptions to otherwise reported 60 FPS gameplay.

What this means for Switch 2 modding coverage

For readers following Switch 2 emulation and homebrew, the useful takeaway is the documented configuration and the limitations attached to the claim. A gameplay demonstration offers a narrower basis for judging a project than broad compatibility testing.

The source also speculates about future unofficial PC ports. That remains a prediction, rather than an announced outcome of Eglantine’s development or something established by this footage.
