Rayman Legends Retold will include a free, PS5-exclusive Astro Bot costume when it arrives on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro on December 3, 2026, according to PlayStation Blog’s October 28 announcement. Players can collect the outfit on their first visit to the costume shop run by in-game tailor Victor Velour.
The crossover follows Rayman’s cameo in Astro Bot (2024), giving the two platforming characters another connection. Ubisoft Milan, Ubisoft Montpellier and Team Asobi collaborated on the costume.
Adapting Astro’s look to Rayman
In the accompanying interview, lead character artist Quentin Chaillet described the challenge of fitting Astro Bot’s polished materials into Rayman’s more organic visual style. The team adapted the outfit around Rayman’s distinctive proportions, including his large nose, detached hands and feet, and oversized shoes.
Chaillet said the design incorporates smooth white surfaces, reflective metallic details and glowing blue elements while retaining Rayman’s personality and expressiveness. His comments frame the costume as a translation between the characters’ different visual styles.
Art and world director Guillaume Arvieu pointed to exploration, fluid movement and imaginative environments as connections between the series. He also described collaborations as a way for developers to exchange ideas and bring different generations of players together.
A December release with local co-op
Beyond the costume, the announcement describes Rayman Legends Retold as a reimagining with new visuals and a retold story. It supports solo play and couch co-op for up to four players, and includes a new realm and additional musical stages.
For players interested in the crossover, the practical detail is its straightforward availability: the announced unlock comes through visiting the tailor, with no additional charge for the outfit.
