Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 launches November 6, bringing an underground DMZ location and a premium Battle Pass catch-up system alongside multiplayer additions, according to PlayStation Blog’s October 28 announcement.
The progression change gives players who fall behind an automatic boost to the reward corresponding to the current day of the season, through day 50. The announcement says this guarantees more than 50 rewards for Battle Pass purchasers. The pass also uses a linear, 100-tier reward track.
DMZ heads underground
The X01 weapons facility introduces tunnels, changing hazards and extraction points that progressively close. Squads will need to complete escape requirements while navigating the location. The announcement also lists additional DMZ Orders within X01, Threat Briefing content focused on boss threats, and Resupply Runs.
For players choosing where to spend their time, the extraction restrictions make X01 a particularly consequential addition: reaching an exit is part of the challenge described in the announcement.
Launch maps and later additions
Multiplayer starts the season with Backstab, Canyon and a reworked Shoot House set in snowy North Korean terrain. Grind returns with dog-tag collection and banking, while Drop Zone tasks teams with holding a rotating objective where Killstreak packages arrive.
Ministry and Overflow are scheduled for mid-season, alongside Counter Attack, a mode built around attacking an opposing Comm Station with bombs while defending your own.
The Battle Pass introduces the Cronen Osprey assault rifle and CSG-35 SMG. Separately, Warzone is due to receive Hajin and Zodiac as part of its Season 1 update. PlayStation Blog says a fuller Warzone roadmap will follow, leaving its additional modes and gameplay features for a later briefing.
