An experimental Windows build of Eden-NX2 is drawing attention in the Switch 2 emulation scene, although reported game compatibility comes with substantial limitations. DLCompare’s November 2 report says developer Takoroka published the build through the Eden project’s Git server on October 29.
The release is described as an early effort to add Switch 2 support to Eden. For readers following Switch 2 modding and homebrew, its immediate significance is experimental software progress; the reported results still leave considerable questions about everyday playability.
Game footage comes with qualifications
DLCompare highlights footage of Mario Kart World running through the emulator, shared by Centro LEAKS on X. However, its report also cites DSOGaming’s account of frequent stuttering, slow performance and graphical glitches in that game.
Donkey Kong Bananza reportedly runs as well, but cannot currently sustain 60 frames per second. According to the release notes described by DLCompare, some missing meshes stem from shaders that have not yet been implemented.
Those qualifications matter when assessing demonstration clips. A game reaching gameplay establishes a different milestone from delivering consistent performance, and the reported problems make that distinction particularly relevant here.
Windows requirements and project background
The build is reportedly available for 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11. DLCompare lists requirements of a Vulkan-compatible graphics processor with at least 8GB of video memory and 16GB of system RAM.
The emulator is distributed without games, so the download does not include the titles shown in demonstrations. DLCompare also traces Eden’s foundations to Yuzu, the original Switch emulator whose development ended in 2024 following Nintendo’s legal action against its creators.
