uFlow scans your game directories and installed titles, then opens each game with its configured launcher.
Game compatibility depends on the title, storage, launcher and—in VC mode—the base. Listing a game does not guarantee compatibility.
Installed titles and extracted raw games. The raw-title backend is experimental.
WiiFlow / USB Loader GX for Wii. Nintendont for GameCube. WBFS and ISO libraries.
Virtual Console injection or NooDS. The launcher can be selected per game.
NES, SNES and GBA via RetroArch or VC. N64, PC Engine and MSX through VC adapters. PlayStation via PCSX ReARMed.

You need a Wii U already running Aroma, its FAT32 SD card, and room for the installer plus your selected components. Setup does not install Aroma itself. Back up the SD before starting.
SD:/wiiu/apps/uFlow-Setup.wuhb.It installs the selected apps, launchers, Aroma modules and default folders. Selecting Wii, GameCube or vWii setup also installs the required vWii components, including Homebrew Channel, WiiFlow forwarder and cIOS. Review the confirmation screen before continuing.
Existing settings and saves are kept. Replaced files are backed up under SD:/.uflow-setup/. Unchecking a component does not uninstall an existing copy.
Installed Wii U titles are discovered automatically when General → Show Installed Wii U is enabled. For files, use the folders below or register your own in Settings → Library → Add Directory.
SD:/
├─ wiiu/raw-games/Game Name/{code,content,meta}/
├─ wbfs/Game Name [GAMEID]/GAMEID.wbfs

Wii U raw folders need the extracted code and content directories. Encrypted packages containing .app, .h3 and title.tmd belong to the Install Content workflow. GameCube RVZ files must be converted to ISO, not renamed.
Removing a library path removes that scan entry, not your game files. The saved catalog lets later launches display the last known library quickly.
You can also open Y Details → Game launcher to choose a launcher, reset it to Use Default, or access its settings. If a launcher is missing, rerun Setup with that component selected.
DS offers Virtual Console injection and NooDS. NES, SNES and GBA can use VC injection or the included RetroArch backend. Wii offers WiiFlow and USB Loader GX; GameCube uses Nintendont.
VC injection uses a compatible Virtual Console base to run your ROM. Compatibility varies by system, base and game; a game appearing in the library does not guarantee it will run.
For a game that does not work with its VC base, try an available alternative such as NooDS for DS or RetroArch for NES, SNES and GBA.
This is separate from installing uFlow itself. Enable the Wii U title installer component in Setup to add the Install Content library.
SD:/install/. Keep the package’s title.tmd, content and related files together.Use complete packages for your console and content. An extracted code/content/meta game is a raw-library entry, not an installable package.
Open Settings → Media → Add Directory. Choose the media type, library scope and folder, then save and scan to match the files to your games.
SD:/wiiu/apps/uFlow/media/<system>/
front/ back/ spine/
fullcovers/ logos/ backgrounds/
previews/ media/ metadata/
Use the game’s title ID or matching game name as the filename. Artwork accepts PNG, JPEG and TGA. A full sleeve is laid out back | spine | front. Transparent PNGs work well for logos and disc/cartridge artwork. Missing faces fall back to the configured default sleeve.
For videos, choose Gameplay Videos as the media type. Set the directory’s start delay, layer and volume. Background playback keeps the library visible; foreground playback takes over the view. For smooth playback, prefer H.264 MP4 at 720p/30 fps.
Display → Preview Delay, directly below Gameplay Previews, adds 0–30 seconds to the source delay; its default is 0 seconds. B dismisses a playing preview until you change games.
Metadata files use the same matching name with an .ini extension. Supported fields include description, developer, publisher, year, genre, players and rating.
Display → Cover Type selects Box, Logo, Media or Thumbnails. Each remembers its own compatible layout. Boxes offer 3D arrangements; logos use flat layouts and directional wheels; thumbnails give you square tiles.
To add a skin, extract its folder to SD:/wiiu/apps/uFlow/skins/, restart uFlow, and select it in General. A skin contains skin.ini plus optional image assets. You can customize colors, icons and placement without rebuilding the app.
A + between icons means a combination; a slash means alternatives. When a button belongs to both a single action and a combination, its single action waits for release.
The left stick and D-pad navigate by default. Right-stick up/down inspect the front/back cover. Assign Next Layout to a spare button or combination to change layouts without opening Settings.
On the GamePad, swipe through rows and logo wheels, or in either direction on wall layouts. Tap settings rows, arrows and footer buttons. In Switch skins, L3 / System Buttons focuses the dock; the controller icon opens Wii U controller pairing.
Press Y to open Details. Move up/down between the icon tabs for synopsis, play, launcher, source, media and information. Right enters interactive controls; Left or B returns to the tabs.
Use the Media tab to browse artwork or play a video. Leaving the video or closing Details stops its player. X marks a favorite from browsing; the synopsis tab also lets you toggle it with A.
Time played and native play counts use the current Wii U account’s activity records when available. uFlow also keeps account-specific launch counts and personal ratings. Unsupported launchers show that play time is not reported rather than estimating a duration.
Rerun the latest Setup to update the selected app, modules and launchers. Existing configuration and saves are preserved. Reboot afterward so the updated Aroma modules are loaded.
The in-app updater checks for signed app releases at startup and asks before installing. It updates the uFlow app; module and backend changes still require Setup. This page’s installer build and the app’s signed update channel are separate releases.
Choose your startup library with General → Start View. To launch uFlow automatically, install Start-on-boot support and enable General → Start uFlow on Boot. Hold + on the GamePad during boot to bypass to Wii U Menu. Installing support alone leaves autostart off.
If boot stops at a minute or environment-selection menu, configure that boot stage for your own console setup first; uFlow’s autostart setting does not install or configure coldboot.
No matching guides. Try “covers”, “controls” or “install”.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Checks for missing games, artwork and playback problems.
First check whether the games appear and launch from the Wii U Menu. If they do not, check the drive connection, power and installation before troubleshooting uFlow.
If they work from the Wii U Menu, enable Settings → General → Show Installed Wii U, select All, and clear any search or A–Z filter. Then run Settings → Library → Add new games. Installed titles are detected separately and do not need a library directory added. Media → Refresh media only updates existing entries; it does not discover games.
Use the latest uFlow release. If the games still do not appear, report your uFlow version, affected game names, drive connections, whether they launch from the Wii U Menu, and any available scan logs. A successful Wii U Menu launch with missing uFlow entries can indicate a detection problem; reinstalling or formatting the drive is not the first troubleshooting step.
Yes. uFlow can show installed Wii U games from a Wii U–formatted drive (WFS) alongside Wii games on a FAT32 drive. Both drives can stay connected; you do not need to swap them when changing between Wii U and Wii games.
Connect the FAT32 drive to a rear USB port for Wii games through WiiFlow or USB Loader GX, and connect the Wii U–formatted drive to the front USB ports.
Make sure both drives have enough power. Use an external power supply or a USB Y-cable where needed. If the Wii U asks to format the FAT32 drive, cancel: formatting it for Wii U erases its contents and changes it to WFS.
Check that its directory is enabled, the content type and extension match, and scan depth reaches the game. Run Add new games after adding files. Installed Wii U titles use the separate Show Installed Wii U option.
Check the media source’s type and library scope. Match the filename to the title ID or normalized game name, and rescan after adding media. For video, confirm Gameplay Previews is on and allow both the source delay and Display Preview Delay to elapse.
A visible entry confirms discovery, not compatibility. Check its selected launcher and that the corresponding Setup component is installed. Fully reboot after installing modules. VC compatibility depends on the base and ROM; try an alternative launcher where available.
Compare both screens before changing storage or launcher settings. If only the GamePad stutters, check its wireless connection and move closer to the console. If both stutter during previews, try a 720p/30 H.264 encode.
Yes. Skin changes affect presentation. Removing a library or media path removes its configuration entry, not the underlying files. Setup also keeps existing settings and saves on reinstall.
No. uFlow is a library interface and launcher. It runs under Aroma and routes games through the installed platform-specific backends. Compatibility and storage support depend on those backends.
